1 Engineering Pathways is a cohort-based experience. As such, all technical coursework listed in the plan of study must be completed for a grade while enrolled in the program—this includes chemistry, computer science, math, physics, and engineering. Advanced Placement (AP) or other credit applied toward English, economics, and liberal education courses requires an appropriate substitution to maintain total number of hours per semester.

2 ENG-198 is an IEFX Projects course which takes place on the U of I campus. Reinforcing the fundamental concepts introduced in ENG-199, you will work in small teams on real engineering projects led by experienced Engineering Learning Assistants. You learn problem-solving strategies and build skills in group formation, project management, communication, and teamwork. The subject of the projects will help you explore your interests and aspirations. Projects may be of your own creation or chosen from an instructor prepared list.

3 The Introduction to Computing/Computer Science requirement will be selected in consultation with an advisor. Course options vary by majors and minors of interest and include—Parkland: CSC 123, 125 or 127; U of I: CS 101 or 125.
